Theatre artists were awarded on the fist festival day...

In the introduction of the festival (23 September 2011) the authors and organisers of the annual polls „revealed“ the new laureates of the theatre awards BOARDS for the 2010/2011 season. The best staging of the season was Coriolanus put on by the drama ensemble of the Slovak National Theatre.  For this production the Slovene director Diego de Brea received the award for the best direction.  Miroslav Noga received the BOARD for the best  actor (Ondrej Šulaj: The Farmer’s Blood, Astorka Korzo´90 Theatre, Bratislava). Also the actress Szidi Tobias attracted the critics‘ attention in this production and was awarded the BOARD for the best actress.  The Hungarian artist Péter Polgár and his work in the production The Kitchen, staged by the Andrej Bagar Theatre in Nitra, won in the categories of stage design and costumes. The BOARD for the best music went to Peter Groll, who composed the music for one part of the performance put on by the ballet of the Slovak National Theatre Made in Slovakia – 4MEN. In the 2010/2011 season the critics discovered Tomáš Mischura who has attracted their attention by the main part in The Metamorphosis  (according to Franz Kafka) staged by the Puppet Theatre at the Crossroads in Banská Bystrica (Bábkové divadlo na Rázcestí v Banskej Bystrici). Darina Kárová, the director of the festival, received BOARDS Award on the occasion of both the festival´s and her personal jubilees.
