Constanza Macras returns!

In Germany operating world-famous Argentinean choreographer Constanza Macras the Divadelná Nitra spectators know from DN 2005 edition as a choreographer and director of a dynamic dance production Big in Bombay. At the festival, you can meet her and her dance company Dorkypark from Berlin after seven years again.
Divadelná Nitra will welcome Constanza Macras and international dance group Dorkypark on September 2012 (September 21 – 26) in the co produced production named Open for Everything. This dance production was initiated by the Goethe Institute as a project reflecting the life of the Gypsies, their cultural identity and complicated relationships between the “majority" and "minority" of society.
In the winter 2010/11 Constanza Macras travelled over Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, where she was looking for Gypsy dancers, musicians, singers and actors for her production. From Slovakia, she chose a young Gypsy singer from Košice Conservatory – Lucia Bogdanová.
The production will be opened in May 2012 in Vienna and later it will host in Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, Berlin, in Dresden and in September 2012 will be introduced to viewers of the Divadelná Nitra Festival.
International Theatre Festival Divadelná Nitra is the partner of the production for its presentation in the V4 countries. A net of co-producers and partners of the project connects Goethe Institute Prague, Wiener Festwochen Festival, Hebbel am Ufer Theater in Berlin, New Stage of the National Theatre in Prague, Trafó Theatre in Budapest, Hellerau Centre in Dresden, Kampnagel Hamburg Theatre and Warszawa Centralna Festival in Warsaw.
