For the selection of Slovak productions to the main programme of DN 2012 is designated Slovak theatre director Marián Amsler.
In 2011, in the programming of the 20th jubilee year, we were inspired by the principles of programme selection used at some international theatre festivals – so-called curatorial selection by the theatre authority. So, in the jubilee year of the festival, for the first time we introduced an interesting and inspiring works of Slovak theatres from the viewpoint of Rastislav Ballek, a Slovak theatre director.
On the positive response of professional audiences from abroad and from Slovakia, we decided to continue on the method of curatorial selection of the programme and the curator for the selection of Slovak part of the main programme of DN 2012 is the theatre director Marián Amsler.
Marián Amsler graduated dramaturgy and theatre directing at Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava.
