:)  Little Red Riding Hood
#tradition #fantasy

The Little Red Riding Hood is one of the most familiar children’s stories that has fascinated children for more than two hundred years. Teatro Tatro presents this well-known tale about the little girl with a red hood who has gone to visit her grandmother in their new theatre space, while peppering it with references to other fairy tales and fantastical characters. The audience thus ends up in a topsy-turvy fairy tale world without rules. This interactive piece, which will entertain both young and old, will be accompanied by live music performed by Čičiriho banda.

:) The Little Goats and the Wolf
#courage #friendship
This story, which plays out on the background of the original folk tale about the little goats and the wolf written by Pavol Dobšinský, is about prejudices, superstitions and about the fear of everything unfamiliar and foreign. This original adaptation of the fairy tale by the New Theatre in Nitra shows how easy it is to overcome this fear, and that the one whom everyone called strange and bad could in the end even become our best friend.

Antigone II.
A fragment from this year’s production of conservatory students. The piece is based on Sophocles’ tragedy Antigone – the play deals with the themes of injustice, populism and fanatic demonstrations of power. The work is intended to force the audience outside its comfort zone and exposes it to difficult questions. It addresses the subject of the evil that appears in our vicinity and to which we cannot turn a blind eye.

#responsibility #tolerance
The production is a fictional reconstruction of an event that took place in one class of a real gymnasium in Munich in 1930. The students are imprisoned in the gym and interrogated one by one regarding a tragedy that happened. The students desperately realise their own failure and the fact that they underestimated their teacher’s “game”. The audience become witnesses of a search for the culprit, of renunciations of responsibility, revaluations and sharp accusations. The play was inspired by the German film Die Welle.

#identity #tolerance #respect
Through this joint production, young people from two neighbouring nations try to find answers to questions about their own identity. The play is about the fear of being exposed, about vulnerability and the fear of unacceptance. About the values such as tolerance, esteem, respect for the other and the truth about oneself. Movement, emotion, image and an openness to genuine communication with the audience are strong expressive features in this play.
