Little Red Riding Hood
#tradition #fantasy
The Little Red Riding Hood is one of the most familiar children’s stories that has fascinated children for more than two hundred years. Teatro Tatro presents this well-known tale about the little girl with a red hood who has gone to visit her grandmother in their new theatre space, while peppering it with references to other fairy tales and fantastical characters. The audience thus ends up in a topsy-turvy fairy tale world without rules. This interactive piece, which will entertain both young and old, will be accompanied by live music performed by Čičiriho banda.

#family #creativity
Familiarium is an innovative project, the first of its kind in Slovakia, in which children and their parents are not simply spectators, but can play and create during the performance. They will first watch the performance of a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen; in the second part of the Familiarium, children will become creators and try out all sorts of theatre work: puppeteering, reading a text, animating a prop… all this on three small stages, where they will be introduced to ‘marionette theatre’ with Brother Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty, and will try their hand at ‘hand puppet theatre’ with the fairy tale Old Bodrík and the Wolf from the folk literature collection of Pavol Dobšinský. In the ‘boudoir’, where children can let loose their imagination, they will able to stage their own play.

Living Memory
Public Living Room on the topic of Justice
#justice #memory #right
This public discussion prepared by the Living Memory organisation will be concerned with the topic of justice and court proceedings from the late 1940s and early 1950s, which entered history as a period of political show trials. The socialist regime exposed its ‘enemies’ and eliminated ‘subversive groups’. Thousands of people ended up in prison and many were executed. The regime then changed its methods, but political processes persisted, albeit with lesser intensity, until its collapse in 1989. Among other things, the guests will also discuss why none of the perpetrators have been punished to this day.

Selektor Ďuri from FONOKRU
Foil-covered polyhouses that accumulate moisture and warmth are a typical feature of the countryside in southwestern Slovakia. These phenomena are an inseparable part of biological development. An artistic duo based in Nitra working under the name VILOERIK has symbolically transferred the polyhouse structure to the grounds of Divadelná Nitra. The FLK 10R-2 object supports the entrance to the theatre, which the authors consider to be an integral element of the cultural development of society.
